Walter Pfeiffer

Walter Pfeiffer is a renowned photographer based in Zürich, known for his playful and captivating portraits of friends, lovers, still life, and landscapes. His unique style has influenced a generation of photographers, including notable figures like Ryan McGinley, Terry Richardson, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Juergen Teller.


One of his significant contributions to the photography world was the publication of "Welcome Aboard, Photographs 1980-2000," which played a pivotal role in reviving the realistic photography movement at the turn of the century. Since then, Pfeiffer has collaborated with prestigious international magazines such as i-D, Butt, Vogue Paris, Self Service, and Fantastic Man.


In addition to his editorial work, Pfeiffer has been the focal point of numerous solo and group exhibitions. Notably, in 2008, Fotomuseum Winterthur organized an exhibition titled "In Love with Beauty," offering a comprehensive chronological overview of his work spanning four decades, from the early 1970s to his most recent creations.


Pfeiffer's impressive body of work also includes publications such as "Walter Pfeiffer. Bildrausch. Drawings 1966-2018" (2018), "Walter Pfeiffer-Scrapbooks 1969-1985" (2012), "Cherchez La Femme!"
