The Loeries


The Loeries has been rewarding creativity for 45 years.


As Africa and the Middle East’s premier award that recognises, rewards, inspires and fosters creative excellence in the advertising and brand communication industry, winning a Loerie is the highest accolade for creativity and innovation across our region. The Loeries, a proudly not-for-profit company, promotes and supports creativity by helping marketers, agencies and consumers appreciate the value of fresh thinking, innovative ideas and outstanding execution.



General Rules and Regulations:


  • The Loeries are open to all areas of Brand Communication – including but not limited to advertising, PR, Design, Architecture & interior Design, Live Events & Activations, Sponsorships, Digital Media, Social Media, Music Videos – and any area where a brand interacts with consumers.

  • Anyone involved in the creation, publishing or production of the work may submit an entry (including directly from the brand, agency or production company).

  • The eligible region includes the following countries from Africa & the Middle East:

  • Africa: All countries on the continent of Africa.

  • Middle-East: All Middle Eastern states - Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE, Yemen.

  • Madagascar

  • Island states off the African coast (e.g. Mauritius and the Seychelles)

  • If multiple companies have worked on a project, they must agree in advance who will submit the entry and they must agree on how the credits will be completed. If an entry is received from more than one company, only the first entry will be accepted. No refunds will be given on duplicate entries.

  • All student work, created and submitted to a registered educational institution from the Eligible Region, may be entered. Unless permission is granted by the Loeries in writing, student work should be submitted by the School/ College/ University, rather than directly by the individual student

Standard Fee: Entries completed after Wednesday, 31 May 2023 will be charged an extended rate.


Single Categories: R3,900.00 ($300 / £240)

Extended rate: R4,300.00 ($315 / £250)


Campaign & Multiple Component Entries: R5,900.00 ($455 / £360)

Extended rate: R6,500.00 ($475 / £375)


Craft Categories: R2,950.00 ($335 / £180)

Extended rate: R3,250.00 ($235 / £185)


Student Single Categories: R780.00 ($65 / £50)

Extended rate: R900.00 ($65 / £55)


Student Campaign: R1,250.00 ($95 / £75)

Extended rate: R1,350.00 ($100 / £80)


All prices are in South African Rand (US Dollar approximate amount). South African VAT at 15% will be added to all invoices.
