Swati Bhattacharya is a celebrated creative leader known for crafting emotionally resonant brand narratives that transcend media and formats to create lasting impact. Currently the Global Head at Godrej Creative Lab, Swati believes that brands find true relevance when they inspire hope and enrich lives.
With over 26 years in advertising, she made history in 2016 as India’s first female Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at FCB Ulka. Under her leadership, FCB India transformed into one of the country's most awarded agencies, winning over 160 industry accolades, including Glass Lions, Gold Lions, Clio Golds, a D&AD Yellow Pencil, and three Spikes Grand Prix. Her leadership played a pivotal role in FCB Ulka being recognized as India’s No. 1 most awarded agency, and in 2021, Campaign Brief Asia ranked her as the 5th most awarded creative director in Asia. She also served as a Cannes Lions See It Be It Ambassador (2019/2020), championing gender diversity in the creative industry.
Beyond advertising, Swati is also a filmmaker. Her short films have been showcased at international festivals, from Vancouver Film Festival to Miami Shorts, and she has won accolades such as Best Short Film at the Kolkata International Short Film Festival and the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for her film Double Shift.
A vocal advocate for workplace inclusivity, Swati promotes a "culture of generosity" that allows women to balance career and family without compromise. She believes that personal experiences, especially motherhood, enrich creative perspectives and lead to more profound storytelling.
Swati’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: brands exist to serve human needs, and their true responsibility is to inspire people to create the world they deserve.
