Rupert Fernandes


Rupert Fernandes is an Indian composer, musician, and guitarist, well-regarded for his contributions to both advertising and Bollywood.


He began his career crafting jingles that merged traditional Indian and contemporary styles. Among his most memorable works in advertising is the Hutch/Vodafone jingle "You & I," inspired by Irish folk music, which became a cultural touchstone alongside the brand's famous pug mascot. Other campaigns include Honda's "Bring Back the Feeling," Glacéau Smartwater "Rana and Smartwater" & "Radhika and Smartwater", Blue Star "Cools the Boss", Nestlé KitKat featuring Anushka Sharma, and Cadbury's "The Story of Us" - Zoya Akhtar. He has also worked with brands such as ICICI, Britannia, Bridgestone India, Vodafone, Glaceau Smartwater and many more.


In Bollywood, Rupert's music debut came with the film Sarfarosh (1999). He later contributed to films like Hope Aur Hum (2018), where he innovatively created the soundtrack using only the guitar, and Twenty-One Hours (2022). He also scored for The Turn Ahead (2022) and Nip in the Bud, an iDiva web film.
