Based in Paris
CEO and Executive Producer at Bandits. Founded in Paris in 1989 by Philippe Dupuis-Mendel and Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Bandits Production's highly acclaimed audio-visual work is recognised worldwide.
His first taste of practical experience came during the production of a "road safety" advertisement shot in the dark forest of Marly. From there, he embarked on his path as an assistant director, honing his skills on two films by Pierre Richard and the set of Med Hondo's "Les nègres maroons de la liberté," which was filmed aboard a ship docked in the old Citroën warehouses in Balard.
It was during this time that Philippe's career took a turn towards the realm of advertising, where he found himself working as a first assistant to esteemed English and American directors such as Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Lee Lacy, and Lester Bookbinder. However, it was in 1987 that everything changed for Philippe. Collaborating with rising star Jean-Baptiste Mondino, renowned for his work in advertising and music videos, Philippe's perspective on images underwent a transformative shift. In 1989, the two visionaries joined forces and co-founded the production company BANDITS, with Philippe assuming the role of president—a position he still holds today.
Recognizing the persuasive power of images, Philippe directed his talents towards the worlds of luxury and automobiles, producing memorable commercials that left an indelible mark in the annals of advertising and the memories of audiences. Noteworthy examples include the iconic "Thief of Colors" for Kodak, the captivating "Elephant" for Peugeot, and the unforgettable "Tattooed Male" for Jean-Paul Gaultier. These works solidified Philippe's reputation as a masterful producer, earning him numerous accolades across various realms of the visual arts.
