According to Scola, his approach to selecting projects is quite straightforward: "If I can't connect with something emotionally, I find it challenging to shoot it."
This instinctive feeling has been both a blessing and a curse throughout his career, but it has also led him to work on projects that he holds dear. Some of his proudest achievements include "Juggernaut and Monsters and Men," and most recently, Michael Sarnoski's "Pig," featuring Nicolas Cage.
Scola's passion for photography ignited during his high school days in the darkroom. It was there that he first engaged with footage and edited shots using Final Cut Pro. However, it wasn't until film school that he realized his desire to tell more significant stories through the camera lens. He vividly recalls the moment he joined his first shoot as a fellow DP while in school, realizing that he wanted to pursue this path instead of working in darkrooms.
Over the years, he has been involved in various projects, including commercials featuring LeBron James and Mercedes, music videos for artists like Disclosure and Aminé.
