Mukund Olety

Mukund is currently the Chief Creative Officer at VML– under his leadership, taking the agency to No. 3 on the Cannes Lions APAC Ranking, for the first time ever. Here, he has also been consistently ranked among the Top 100 Chief Creative Officers in the world.


Starting his professional journey in 2002 as a Copywriter at i-Vista Digital Solutions, in the following few years, Mukund went on to take various roles heading creative departments at agencies like DDB Mudra, JTW and Ogilvy.


He then joined Ogilvy as the Creative Director, where he notably led a global campaign for Carlsberg and regional campaigns for Coke, Samsung and Durex. Winning several awards at his stint there, he moved on to BBDO China as the Group Creative Director. There too, he took the company to new heights earning it various international awards.


Now at VML, leading a team of over 200 creatives across three offices in India, Mukund has already brought home over a hundred international awards, including a Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions, and a White Pencil at D&AD.


With a knack for merging creativity, technology, and culture to crack briefs and create narratives that not only brings brands success but also resonates with the audience, his work speaks for itself. Mukund is a firm believer in diversity breeding creativity, always striving to create new and exciting work.


In his career spanning over two decades, he has worked on campaigns like Ageas Federal 'Young Sachin', Pepsi x BlackPink, Neelam's 'Are Those Neelam's Shoes', McDonald's 'Save the Sundae Cone', and The Hindu Campaign.


His brand portfolio also includes Nike, Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, Coke Studio, Carlsberg, Intel, Durex, and M&M's.


In addition to his work, Mukund has given back to the industry, serving on numerous jury panels and mentoring young creatives.
