Lewis Blackwell is an acclaimed writer, creative director, and industry leader with a career spanning start-ups, large-cap enterprises, and not-for-profits. Currently the Director of Lürzer’s Archive and CEO of Creative Standards International, he oversees one of the most respected global advertising publications and the Cresta Awards, a creative competition with entrants from over 70 countries.

Previously, Lewis served as Editor-in-Chief of Creative Review and Worldwide Creative SVP at Getty Images, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the visual and creative direction of brands worldwide. A respected author, his works include the bestselling The Life & Love of Trees—praised by Ellen DeGeneres—along with seminal books on graphic design, typography, and photography, such as Twentieth-Century Type and The End of Print (with David Carson).

Beyond publishing, Lewis has been deeply involved in the photography world, having chaired the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition at the Natural History Museum and currently serving as Chair of Stills Centre of Photography in Edinburgh. His extensive contributions to the creative industry make him a sought-after voice in design, media, and cross-platform storytelling.
