Kayvan Jahanshahi

Kayvan Jahanshahi is an award-winning film score composer, sound designer, and filmmaker with over two decades of experience in film, television, video advertising, and music production. A graduate of the Tehran University of Art’s Cinema & Theater Department with a BA in Film Directing (1994), Kayvan has established himself as a leading figure in film sound post-production, film score composition, digital audio mastering, and sound design for experimental films and documentaries.

His expertise extends to composing soundtracks for TV commercials, producing music for visual arts, drama, video art, and installations, and teaching the Iranian musical instrument "Setar." As a musician, composer, arranger, and score writer, he brings deep knowledge of Persian music to his work. His technical skills as a studio sound engineer include recording, mixing, mastering, and post-production, making him a versatile force in the industry.

Kayvan’s work has been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Crystal Simorgh at the 11th International Fajr Film Festival (1992) for his composition in Shadows of the Invasion (Sayeha-ye Hojoom). He received a Diploma of Honor at the 1998 Fajr Film Festival for his score in Children of Heaven and was nominated for Best Sound Editing at the festival in 2000 for Heaven Is for You (Behesht az Aan To).
