Josh Wilks is a self-taught photographer and filmmaker based in London. His creative work is strongly influenced by film and storytelling, aiming to create dramatic and experimental narratives that go beyond the confines of traditional fashion photography. Each of his images is meticulously crafted with a thoughtful story and concept, showcasing a theatrical, evocative, and non-conventional approach. Josh refuses to be limited by a specific style, allowing him the freedom to prioritize the meaning and message of the image. His process often incorporates a highly sexualized sense of humor.
Josh enjoyed a fruitful creative partnership with renowned makeup artist and model Isamaya Ffrench for four years, resulting in an impressive and dynamic body of work. He also worked in-house at Fiorucci, where he photographed Georgia May Jagger for the brand's global relaunch campaign in 2018.
Having worked with notable clients such as Dazed, i-D, Love, Novembre, and Garage, Josh has also collaborated on campaigns for luxury beauty brands including McQ, YSL, Junya Watanabe, and Tom Ford Beauty. He recently joined Academy for photography representation, with a strong determination to delve into the realm of moving images in the upcoming year.
