Hunter Daly

Hunter Daly, a Director of Photography (DoP) based in London, UK, embarked on his journey in the advertising, film, and TV industry after graduating with a Law degree from the London School of Economics (LSE). His passion for film led him to train under esteemed mentors in the lighting and camera department. Beginning as an electrician for gaffers like Julian White (known for "Crazy Rich Asians," "The Martian," "A Midnight Sky"), he later worked as a gaffer for DoPs such as Nicolas Karakatsanis ("I, Tonya," "The Drop") and Phillip Blaubach BSC ("Bridgerton") before assuming the role of Head of Department (HoD) in 2016.

Over the last five years, Hunter's career has seen a rapid ascent, having worked in more than 15 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. He has collaborated with leading production companies, creating conventional advertising and narrative short films for internationally recognized brands, as well as artists like Oscar and Grammy Award-winning singer Sam Smith.

A dedicated observer and perpetual learner, Hunter's versatility serves as an asset not only technically but also in understanding humanistic aspects, along with cutting-edge game engine rendering technologies and traditional formats such as 35mm and 16mm. With Irish and US dual citizenship, he has convenient access to the US and EU markets and has been a long-time resident of London. As of 2021, Hunter is pursuing a Master's in Law during his time away from shooting.
