Ashim Ahluwalia


Ashim Ahluwalia is a Director and the Founder of the production company Future East Film.


His journey in filmmaking began with a BA in filmmaking from Bard College in upstate New York in 1995.


Ahluwalia's directorial repertoire includes the Netflix series "Cla$$" (2023) and feature films like "Daddy" (2017) and "Miss Lovely" (2012), all of which have earned him widespread acclaim.


Known for challenging traditional narratives, his films lead audiences into uncharted territories of human experience. Ahluwalia holds the distinction of being the only Indian director whose work has premiered in the official selections of prestigious festivals like Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, and SXSW.


In addition to his cinematic achievements, he is highly regarded as an ad film director, with Future East Films producing engaging ads for brands such as Britannia, Bose, Audi, Chevrolet, and Colgate.


His visually striking work, marked by inventive camera movements and captivating lighting, has earned him recognition as "one of the ten best-emerging film directors working today" by Phaidon Press in "Take 100: The Future of Film."


Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous brands, with notable works including campaigns for Ceat Tyres, Myntra and Tasty Treats.
