Amar Mangrulkar is a Mumbai-based music composer recognised for his dynamic contributions across both advertising and film.
After completing his MBA, Amar began his career at the advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather. It was during a visit to a music studio for one of his projects that he realised his passion lay in composing music. At age 30, he made a bold career change, leaving the corporate world to pursue music full-time.
A self-taught composer, today, his compositions feature in hundreds of TV ads, Netflix’s Taj Mahal 1989, TVF's Tripling (2016), and films like Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Lootcase (2020), Haseen Dilruba (2022), and Sumo Didi (2024).
He has worked on numerous ad campaigns, adding emotional and memorable dimensions to the brand. Some of his most recognised advertising work includes Madhya Pradesh Tourism - MP Ajab Hai, Sabse Gajab Hai (Shadow), Nescafe - RJ Rishi, Cornetto Chokissimo - Will You Be My Cornetto?, Surf Excel - Daag Acche Hai #DaagKOHaraao, Center Fruit - Tabalchi, and various campaigns for Imperial Blue - Men Will Be Men, and "This Diwali, Let's #DeliverTheLove" to name a few.
Over the years he has collaborated with brands like, Ikea, Surf Excel, Imperial Blue, Madhya Pradesh Tourism - MP Ajab Hai, Horlicks, Good Knight, Maaza, Tanishq and more.
Amar has won three Abby Awards and received a Filmfare nomination, affirming his impact in the industry. His work is characterised by a seamless blend of rhythm, emotion, and storytelling that resonates with audiences.
