Aaron Weintraub

Based in Ontario

Aaron, the founder of Mr. X, a prominent VFX company located in Ontario, has achieved considerable acclaim in the industry. He garnered recognition for his exceptional work on Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio, receiving awards for Outstanding Visual Effects in an Animated Feature. Throughout his career, Aaron has contributed his talents to several notable films, including A History of Violence, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and Repo Men.

Aaron's passion for visual effects dates back to the late 80s and early 90s when he diligently taught himself about computer graphics in his parents' basement. With a deep love for film and a keen interest in computer graphics, he realized that visual effects presented the perfect arena to combine his two passions. Pursuing his dream, Aaron obtained a BFA in Film, mastering the art of splicing and taping 16mm film and sound mag.

During this time, Aaron also honed his skills as a Flame/Inferno artist, gaining valuable experience working on commercials and music videos at Topix in Toronto and later internationally. It was in the year 2000 that Aaron co-founded Mr. X alongside Dennis Berardi. The primary objective of their venture was to specialize in providing top-notch VFX services exclusively for feature films and other long-format projects.
